Skoda Auto India recently announced their sales figures for the month of April. The Czech company, which is a part of Volkswagen, witnessed a 90% increase in sales, selling 2,446 units in comparision to the 1,285 units sold in the same period last month.
This premium car manufacturer is reportedly a rising global auto competitor in India, as they sold 2,446 units last month. The board member of marketing and sales for the company, Thomas Kuehl, was quoted as saying that he is quite happy with their performance in this month, having almost doubled their sales compared to last year’s with a growth of 90%.
He added that they ended the first quarter of this year quite successfully, and is confident that their current momentum of positive sales will continue. Skoda is reportedly working on their dealership network so as to strengthen their pan-India sales force. They recently opened their 3s facility dealership this March in Goa.
The company also plans to open another 3s dealership by May 2011 in Meerut. As the company increases its stronghold in the global auto market, they also aim to double their global sales by 2018, selling around 1.5mn units at least.
