Skoda’s compact SUV Yeti, which is quite successful in the International market, has once again grabbed the attention in the compact SUV segment. The car has already grabbed many awards, and the recent two comes from the reputed off roader magazine, Total 4×4. Working on the revisions on the 4×4 categories in the 4×4 of the year award reflected the changing market scenario. Yeti contended in the small SUV category. Despite the change of category, Skoda Yeti with its versatile on road and off road capability was ranked high among the other contenders. And now consecutively for the second year it also grabbed the award for ‘Special Award for Best Value.’
Skoda has some strong lineup of quality awards in its honors. In year 2011 Yeti grabbed the award in the Crossover category and marched ahead to grab the title for ‘4×4 of the year’. Last year it topped the class for Best value and again this year it repeated the same story. Editor, Total 4×4, Alan Kidd said that dues to changes categories, Skoda Yeti has to face a totally new set of competitors. It got ahead of all of them and became the winner with the same qualities that has made it win so many awards since its launch.
He also said that last year, most of the vehicle that came out displayed outstanding value for money, but when we considered the fact about making, usability, feasibility and what it has to offer, then Skoda Yeti again was untouchable. Brand director for Skoda UK, Alsadair Stewart said that it is quite proud moment to start the New Year with an award for Yeti. Yeti has now completed its four years of sales but has still been able to grab two awards from Total 4×4. This shows how special this car is. He further added that Skoda Yeti is the perfect blend of on road performer, a family vehicle and a capable off roader.
