There are few startups from India who showcased EVs during the Auto Expo. Now, EV start-up Strom Motors is all set to launch its game-changing all-electric urban mobility solution. Proudly made in India, Strom-R3 is the first reverse trike vehicle to receive ARAI certification here.
The 2-seater electric car measures 2,907 mm in length and weighs 550 kg. It comes equipped with a sunroof, a rear spoiler and alloy wheels. On the inside, it comes with a 4.3-inch touchscreen digital instrument cluster, 12-way adjustable driver’s seat and a 7.0-inch vertically oriented touchscreen head-unit that comes with an IOT-enabled Continuous Monitoring System and has 4G connectivity, voice control, gesture control, 20 GB onboard music storage, smart music playlist, mobile connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation with voice. There is also an auxiliary 2.4-inch touchscreen below it.
The car gets a fully customisable user interface. The Strom R3 is powered by an electric motor producing 20 BHP and 90 Nm and a lithium-ion battery. It also comes with three driving modes (Eco, Normal and Sports) and regenerative braking.
The car has a top speed of 80 km/h and a claimed range of up to 200 km on a single charge. Charging time is claimed to be 3 hours. Strom Motors is now offering a 3-year / 1,00,000 km warranty with the car. Strom team has announced that pre-bookings for the Strom-R3 2X version (200 km range) are now open.
As only a limited number of vehicles will be produced in the first year, eager customers from Mumbai and Delhi region can quickly reserve their rides with a small initial deposit of Rs. 10,000. Early customers will be rewarded with a big bonus: benefits worth over Rs.50,000.
This includes several upgrades like customized color options, a premium audio system and 3 years of free maintenance. Deliveries will begin in the next 12 months. Test drives and owner orientation sessions will be held prior to vehicle delivery. Customers can delay or cancel the delivery with a full refund.
