Just some days back, we were given down with the teaser image of Authentics concept by Suzuki to be showcased at 2013 Shanghai Auto Show, and now it is the time for Japanese carmaker to reveal the same, yet fulfilling our thirst for an aspiring metal in horizon to compete at a very high level, Authentics Concept had paved the way perfectly in its prescribed direction.
The C segment was vying for this sort in the conventional (makers) range, not very niche on price and a practical briefing to the core, Authentics had those authenticity in the form of more chrome streaks thrown everywhere, low height, long wheelbase and sporty fringes, making a lucrative buy in countries like China (specifically), and also its neighbors to an extent. As per the official announcement, Suzuki claimed to roll out production spec by end of 2014 and said to be sold alongside the SX4 Crossover, planned to produce at Chongqing Changan Suzuki joint venture in China, for their local market.
SX4 is gaining volume for the carmaker in Dragon branded country and henceforth to further inspire SX4 sedan this concept will prove a mighty drawing.
It is sized at 4.60 m in length, with a wheelbase of 2.75 m, Authentics boasted us with the “coupe” resembling looks due to swift and curvy metals wraparound, and more importantly doors handles also are tripped safely underneath the bold horizontal crisp transfusing from front to rear bumpers. Meanwhile, the paintjob had made us to think somewhere near a BMW class offering, but pinching ourselves had switched us out of our dreams, saying that it is really a “Suzuki” – the Japanese moniker which builds car for masses.
Technical specifications aren’t yet revealed, but we expect the same jag to be planted under Authentics which will simultaneously pin down SX4 crossover in the field.
It has a strong possibility of entering India and giving a stiff chase to Hyundai Verna and its likes, that tends to be sporty as well as sophisticated on the front, and can also be termed as a nice replacement to its very own Kizashi.
