There are rumors that Tata motor is developing an Aria crossover variant which would be available at a lower price. The new upcoming crossover is expected to be powered by a 2.2 liter common rail turbo intercooled engine that would be capable of producing about 140bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. The new car is expected to be branded as the Tata Aria Pure LX.
The Aria can be considerably downsized to make the way for the model suitable for the Cab category. The body colour bumpers may be replaced by the plastic black units, the tires can be downsized and alloys could not be in the option. From the interiors, Tata can remove shade holders, leather steering wraps, LCD navigation, leather seats etc.
Tata Aria is currently priced at Rs. 11.67 lakhs for the base model and Rs. 16.56 lakhs for the premiumrange model. For now Tata Aria houses a 2197cc Diesel engine that is capable of delivering mileage of about 13.7 kmpl. The engine is coupled with manual transmission. The expected upcoming model is an Automatic transmission diesel model that will be capable of giving about 14.5 kmpl.
