Some days back, we reported about the Indian Hummer of Tata Motors doing test rounds on the roads of Pune, now a reader of MotorBash landed us the gallery of same in clarity, which we had missed while the last time in spy shots.
However, there is not much to say about this vehicle, as we had already mentioned it in clear details in our prior post, but hopefully this time it looks like the car is being finally getting shipped to the ways of Indian Navy officials for finalizing on the context whether to assign it in the fleet or not.
Recently, we too learned that the said vehicle, the Indian carmaker had unveiled at the 2008 Defense Expo. It dwells 3.0 Liter common rail DICOR engine pumping out 115 bhp of peak power and 320Nm of maximum torque. But obviously, the 4-wheel drive with an Automatic Transmission is also a part of its drivetrain. And the vehicle is customizable too, which we hope can be converted to military Ambulance as well. Tata’s LSV (Light Specialist Vehicle) which looks like Indian version of Hummer holds a customizable platform and function on an all-terrain meant for carrying troops, ammunition, food supplies etc to the most demanding situations.
Our personal bit, the Indian Navy discarded the Maruti Gypsy from their fleet in order to purchase a more powerful vehicle, which we hope maybe this Tata Motors’ Hummer finding itself suitable in the context.
