Tata motors saw a rise of about 15% in its sales in July with respect to the July 2011. Tata motors sold a total of about 74,159 vehicles in the month of July which include both commercial and passenger vehicles. In July 2012, the figures were about 68,627 units for domestic market higher by 18% over the 57,990 units sold in July 2011. The collective figures including exports are at 264,702 units higher by about 2%over 259,649 units sold last year.
Commercial Vehicles
The company sold about 42,387 units in domestic market in July. It showed a 4% growth compared to the 40,798 vehicles that were during the same period last year. LCV sales were about 29,601 units with a growth of 19% compared to the 24,962 vehicles sold in July last year. M&HCV sales got some setback and were down by 19% at 12,786 units as compared to the 15,836 units in July last year. However the collective sales of the commercial vehicle in the domestic market were at 157,685 units, which was about 2% higher over last year. Collective LCV sales were at 109,956 units with a growth of about 19% over last year and M&HCV was down by 22% to 47,729 over 2011 statistics.
Passenger Vehicles
The passenger vehicle sales were at 26,240 in July higher by about 53% over 17,192 units last year. Tata Nano sales also showed a step increase of 68% with 5,485 units compared to the 6230 units sold last year. Indica range sold about 8852 units about 51% higher than the last year. The Tata Indigo range also showed higher gains of about 40% by selling 6816 units compared to the 4877 units sold last year.
The cumulative sales of the passenger vehicles were at 86679 units higher by 5%. Jaguar Land Rover continues to trend their upward rise.
Export
The company’s sales from the export was about 5532 units in July 2012, which showed a step down by about 15% compared to 6512 units sold in the same period last year. The collective sales form the fiscal are around 20338 units down by about 13% over 23506 units sold in July last year.
