Tata Motors is all set to export its Nano small car into Asian markets, beginning with Sri Lanka. By June 2011, Sri Lanka could see its first batch of 500 Tata Nano’s making it to its shore. After this, the home grown manufacturer aims to sell approx. 200 cars through their dealer network in Sri Lanka every month.
This decision by Tata Motors is likely to help increase their global sales as well as improving the presence of its small car. The company though will have to make some changes to the Tata Nano before they decide to export it to Sri Lanka. As per the regulations is Sri Lanka, the rear of the Nano will have to be fitted with inertia reel belts. So far the price of the Sri Lanka Nano version is not yet known.
