Finally, after lot of cuts Safari Storme facelift by Tata Motors had reached the finish line at launch venue just on time. Priced for Rs 9.99 lakh, a shade fewer than 1 million, the maker had focused on marketing spunk to get Storme facelift better responses, which the new price tag says it all.
However, Safari Storme do not wish to remain expensive with the facelift, dealers are accepting the bookings for same for an amount ranging between Rs 10,000 and 50,000
The major change on the SUV goes with the honeycomb mesh front grille which is lifted from Range Rover, thanks to the Tata Motor’s acquisitions of JLR (Jaguar Land Rover). More of the amendments are carried out inside this time to make it more focused for drivers and comfortable for passengers.
Firstly, the new steering wheel from Bolt and Zest comes as an initial visual appeal. Black theme with silver accents running across is another.
Now, despite being a strong competitor to modern-rivals of the segment, Storme facelift misses out on infotainment system which had become a standard on the hatchbacks nowadays. Other features like rear parking sensors, armrest for rear passengers, steering-mounted controls, new music system with USB, aux-in, Bluetooth compatibility and a display screen doesn’t make up for the loss.
The engine bay gets a revamp too, a boost of 10bhp makes the 2.2-litre Varicor engine lifted from Aria to send the power of 148bhp and 320Nm of torque.
