The catapult is on full stretch, while just awaited for the voice command to release pressure at the blink of an eye. However, quite before that Tata Motors without any fanfare launched the Safari Storme facelift in India for a price of Rs 10.41 lakh.
Reportedly, the changes are very limited in numbers, but the honeycomb mesh from Range Rovers for front grille and chin is simply remarkable. Moving to another, it is the absence of Varicor engine badge on sides.
The interiors are new and fresh. Steering wheel happened to be carried over from the Bolt and Zest while the black-silver theme is infused to name for new.
The list of features now makes more sense than before, includes rear parking sensors, new music system, a display screen, USB, aux, Bluetooth compatibility and steering-mounted controls are the most welcomed. Now, the rear seat passengers too get a central arm rest, but still buyers will miss the infotainment system which has become more of a standard with the cars valuing upwards than Rs 10 lakh.
Hence, under the hood Safari Storme facelift is as same as before with Aria’s 2.2-litre Varicor diesel engine of 148bhp – marginally 10bhp more than the previous model – retained by the same torque of 320Nm.
Following is the price list of Safari Strome facelift in India (ex-showroom Delhi) scheduled as per the trim level:
- LX – Rs. 10.41 lakh
- EX – Rs. 11.61 lakh
- VX – Rs. 13.02 lakh
- VX 4×4 – Rs. 14.34 lakh
