Tata Motors was reportedly said to enter the fray of Australia, and most of its sales were perhaps tend to be concluded from the truck section itself, as it enjoys a good images in the said segment there. This time we pounded on the news that Tata had unveiled a new truck concept at the National 4×4 & Outdoors Show in Australia called “Tuff”.
Hopefully, Tuff meant to be really tough, which is jointly developed by Julian Quincey, chief designer at Holden Special Vehicles (HSV), Tata’s only associate in Australia.
Tuff concept is based on the Tata’s pickup truck Xenon, and features daytime running LEDs on very macho front bumper, LEDs strip near the fog lamp cluster too, a winch and tow hooks, a snorkel and 20-inch billet aluminum wheels, off-road tires and some additional notches to gut the rugged feeling around.
Cosmetically, the ‘Tuff’ quotient is proven, engine specifications happens to be doing with 2.2liter turbo diesel engine, pumping out 150hp (110 kW) and 320Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a five-speed manual transmission and a shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive system for some of the off-road concierge.
