For Tata it was always the Pune where its test mules are spied; now in Mumbai, the upcoming Zest is spotted testing amidst the huge fanfare of traffic.
Zest is the entry-level sedan of Tata Motors that will set the race against the likes of Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze and such. However, the upcoming cars like hatchback Bolt and the entry-level sedan Zest indicates the shift in focus of Tata Motors towards the compact cars rather than the SUVs in order to gain the sales in mass volumes.
Muddle of camouflages and the red paint shade is making the vehicle to glow in the dark with its tail lamps lighted in the spy-shots.
For underpinning it, Tata Motors had used the Indica’s platform, which will be accompanied by a mix of petrol and diesel engine options. For the diesel buffs, the 1.3-liter Fiat Multijet diesel engine will be embedded with a five-speed gearbox pelting out 90 PS of peak power and 200 Nm of maximum torque. There can be options of AMT too in the lineup, and it can be safely uttered as the India’s cheapest diesel automatic. Tata’s new 1.2-liter turbocharged Revotron engine will be seen in action on this for producing 85 PS of power and 140 Nm of torque.
No confirmed words about the launch, where it is heavily speculated the arrival can happen anytime soon.
