Toyota Etios Cross landed in India at the recently held Delhi Auto Expo 2014 with an extravaganza bigger and better. The Toyota lovers now got a reason to rejoice as the Japanese carmaker has promised to launch it during the second half of year, whereas bookings are already said to have been started.
Aesthetically, Etios Cross is the same Etios underneath the skin, with nothing new to conclude on this apart from its line of competition with Volkswagen Polo Cross and the recently unveiled Fiat Avventura. The trend of hatchbacks going SUVs is the verge of boom, as SUV lovers are increasing day by day in the nation, except than launching the same hatchback based crossover carmakers don’t have a cooler option to gatecrash this ongoing fizz.
On the outer, Etios is done with the new front grille and a silver guard marching ahead of the body. Plastic side skirts and bumpers integrated with fog lamps as well as signal lamps, silver roofrails matched with the sliver slit on doors, and 15-inch alloys and Etios badging on the bootlid completes this brand new package in just few words. On the interiors, a piano black theme is selected with sporty seat fabrics contrasted by white stitches running across, 2-DIN audio system with aux, Bluetooth and USB compatibility just fill in the slot for the brand in this heavily competing era.
Under the hoods no changes are made. It was seen retaining the same legacy of 1.2 and 1.5-litre petrol motors and a 1.4-litre diesel with ABS and EBD as standard.
Price hasn’t been announced yet. Toyota has kept its aspirers luring for more till the launch. We guess, Etios Cross is not going to fall easy anytime on the pockets of customers while reviewing the earlier pricing of the brand management. One can write to us in our comments section which they had liked the most, Fiat Avventura, Volkswagen Polo and Etios Cross.
