Toyota Fortuner stories had always remained on the chip of raising eyeballs whenever and whichever way it is published. Now one more of the examples, which is not for the audience of India as guessed, Toyota started the production of Fortuner SUV at a production facility of Saryarka AvtoProm LLP (SAP) in Kazakhstan. The commencement of production of Fortuner in Kazakhstan marks the strategic importance of Toyota in Central Asia.
SAP’s Kostanay plant is the first production site for Toyota vehicles in Central Asia which will produce approximately 3,000 units a year and had already hired additional 100 employees to support the production process.
The production at the Kazakhstan is one more step of Toyota’s strategy to grip the emerging markets in its hold. Toyota also produces its body-on-frame SUV in Egypt since 2012, and assembly of the Land Cruiser began in the Russian Far East in 2013.
In India, the Fortuner rivals to the likes of Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Pajero and many more.
