Toyota Kirlosker Motors has released its sales report for the month of November 2012. It sold about 10,352 units in comparison to the 13,956 units it sold in November last year. The sale degrades by about 26 percent when we compare it with last year’s figures during the same period. However, Innova has registered a growth of about 9 percent with the sale of about 4,682 units as compared to the 4,308 units that it sold during the same period last year. Fortuner came as a savior for the TKM with a growth of about 19 percent with a total sale of about 1,025 units against the 860 units it sold during the same month last year. The Etios series of vehicles sold about 4,231 units against the 8,271 units during the same month last year. Camry and Corolla Altis sold about 46 and 365 units respectively during the Nov month.
Speaking on the sale figures, Deputy Managing Director for Marketing, TKM, Mr. Sandeep Singh said that the drop in the sales in mainly due to the plant shut down, which was undertaken to increase the production from 2,10,000 units per year to 3,10,000 units per annum for the next year. The first plant that manufacturers Fortuner and Toyota Innova was shut down for an entire week and the next plant that manufactures Etios series and Camry was shut down for about 15 days. He also added that the market is still picking up the pace and the company is hoping to see some good sale growth in the end of the year sales. He also hoped that market will grow in the first quarter of the next year.
