Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s September sales declined around 5% to 12,115 vehicle units as compared to 12,807 vehicle units during the corresponding period of 2011.
But, Toyota Innova recorded an increase of 23% with 5,858 vehicle units being sold as against 4,765 sold during September 2011.
The Fortuner filed an increase of 21%. It sold 1,301 vehicle units in September as against 1,078 vehicle units during the same month of last year.
Etios series marketed 4,440 vehicle units as against to 5,926 vehicle units.
The newly launched Camry, now locally fabricated in the Indian market, sold 85 vehicle units in September 2012, during which Corolla Altis sold 424 vehicle units.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor Deputy Managing Director (Marketing) Sandeep Singh stated that they have witnessed a decline in September 2012.
The market has been quite lethargic and the outlooks are very low in the passenger car sector.
Mr. Sandeep Singh added that they expect to witness it gathering up during the festival period.
On the export front, Mr. Sandeep said that Toyota Kirloskar Motor shipped 2,176 vehicle units of the Etios series to South Africa in September 2012.
