With a rise in the number of people eyeing an SUV, Toyota’s Rush will reportedly set the car market in India on fire. Its latest competitor in all respects would be Renault Duster. Toyota’s Rush is fully compact and fits the Indian car portfolio market perfectly. It almost seems that Rush’s entry is almost going to complete the “unfinished business” of the Indian SUV segment.
Rush will be launched in India not before 2014 and Sport Utility Vehicles such as Ecosport and Duster is sure going to have a tough time marketing itself. According to industry experts, Rush will be cleverly priced between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 12 lakh giving an unsettling competition to Indian SUVs. Rush’s entry planning has begun already and the market seems to be all heated up for a welcoming discussion. Though the engine options are yet to be finalized for Indian roads, the prospective buyers are sure waiting for this.
Rush resembles fairly with Premier Rio though. However, this will not qualify for any negative reviews as this SUV would be blessed with a second generation model of the Terios. Premier Rio stagnated in the car market because of its first generation make of the engine- Daihatsu Terios. Rush has already been a major hit abroad with its comfortable 5-seater capacity and 7-seater configurations. The Rush is designed to accommodate both short and long wheelbase variants accompanied by a 1.5 litre petrol engine. The Indian version will have an engine capacity of 1.4 liter though, according to the Toyota officials. Indians would get to see the most hyped vehicle of the year in both petrol and diesel versions.
Air bags would be an added advantage in the car and it will be placed on the top end variant. The prices will definitely be competitive and Toyota seems to suggest a 2014 full of promises for the car market setting the stakes higher than usual.
