Maruti Celerio, the new hatchback, which will soon be launched in the country, is finally caught. The design of the car is true to the A:Wind concept. This A:Wind concept on which the car has been based on was showcased at the Thailand Motor Show. The ZXi variant, which is at the top of the line, had been spotted at the Buddh International Circuit. Since it is one of the new cars that will be launched in the market, it has a fresh and good design proportion. The front bumper of the car is wide with integrated foglamps and large air intakes. The smoked headlamps have been connected to the two slat chrome grille.
As a result of the integrated roof spoiler and the wraparound windshield, the rear end of the car is similar to that of Swift. Celerio also features turn indicators on the wing mirrors and 6 spoke alloy wheels. The car will come with an automatic manual transmission (AMT) system, which is called “EZ DRIVE.” It is the first car to offer such a gearbox in India. This new AMT technology is said to be more fuel efficient than the manual transmission system and at the same time it is cheaper than the normal automatic transmission system.
The Celerio will be equipped with a K-series, 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engine which is capable of producing 68PS with a torque of 90Nm. The engine of the car is no different from the one that is featured in the Alto K10 and the A-Star.
The car is expected to take the place of A-Star in the Indian market and is scheduled to make its debut at the Auto Expo, which will be held next month.
