Jeep Wrangler
Now coming to the plush space for a change, the launch of Jeep slated to happen this year had been postponed till the next year for the reason market was a bit sluggish to accept a new brand in that respective collage. The smallest of Jeep – Wrangler – will make way to India to lovers of a true-blue off-road that also demands luxury and comfort at the same time. Pricing will not be easy to go down with, as expected 4 million INR (Rs 40 lakh) will be tagged around its neck at the first sight. Jeep Grand Cherokee
Jeep’s flagship SUV, Grand Cherokee, is about to mark the big foot imprint in the form of a stylish American SUV which can go off-road at the same in ultimate luxury, and not to forget teething deeper the persona of the Jeep with traditional seven-slat front grille. Land Rover Discovery Sport
The Freelander 2 successor Discovery Sport is aimed to barge into most of the sales which its predecessor was garnering for the company. Majorly, 90% of the parts used on this SUV are claimed to be new, and this is the first model of new Discovery range. The reason of bringing it into the market as against the Freelander 2 is better off-road capability and a bigger boot. They say, Discovery Sport is going to be a proper 7-seater to suit the Indian audience and will be powered by the new engine family of XE in the petrol and diesel both. Raising the question over its rivalry, it is actually suited best for the starting level of luxury SUV but those seven-seats added makes it to lock horns with Volvo XC60, Audi Q5 and BMW X3.

New Audi Q7
The Audi’s Q7 is a prominent answer if asked how to galore fame on the roads of India, most of would say go and get yourself an Audi Q7 as the chunk of Bollywood and other biggies have adopted it for showing off their stardom. The new Q7 must push that envelope further and would offer a more dramatic appeal for the life-style suited buyers. As expected, the new Four-ringed SUV will be bigger and would use the parent company – VW Groups’ – new MLB platform underneath for a big-footer looks. Tech-savvy and luxury burgeoned, it will still weigh lesser than the current ones – all praises for new chassis. The 3.0-litre petrol engine with the same capacity of diesel (of 3.0-litre) and a 4.2-litre diesel will upkeep the momentum. Mercedes-Benz GL-Class and BMW X5 are the ones going to be affected adversely with the new Q7.
Expected Price: Rs 60-75 lakh
New BMW X6
Apparently all BMWs look more or less similar whether they are of the present-gen or from the past, with the facelift or without it. But, still this German keep pushing the design team to work out minor changes at least to place the facelift tag on them. One such example of the near future is BMW X6 facelift which will come to India soon by the coming year. Detailing it minutely, it has became aggressive than before and some of its lines are believed to serve un-relaxed since after the workout. Well, who may have thought the assimilation of a coupe and SUV would do so well for BMW, which is still a one of its kind in the category. Drivetrain of X6 facelift is expected to remain unchanged with the 3.0-litre diesel and an addition of 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 is speculated heavily.
Expected Price: Rs 80 lakh
Porsche Cayenne Facelift
Here is our favourite, the Porsche Cayenne – SUV with sports features, is going to receive a new face in India that is recently launched in international markets. The changes made are subtle where headlamps pose to be the major ones. The refreshed chunk of tweaks lies in the engine bay where the company has tweaked engine for better fuel-economy and power for some options. If preferring to buy naturally aspirated V8, buyers have to be disappointed as the company has replaced it with the efficient and turbocharged V6. Spectators of Turbo S and GTS shall make their decisions affirmed as there aren’t any changes mentioned for them, V8 motors will continue. Mercedes-Benz ML-Class and Range Rover Sport would stand shoulder to shoulder with the Cayenne facelift.
Expected Price: Rs 1.5-2.5 crore
Honda CR-V Facelift And Diesel
Honda suffered a huge loss in the SUV department over selling them in India. The reason cited is unavailability of the diesel option which despite launching a CR-V facelift recently didn’t helped so. In another attempt to raise those numbers and top the chart of hot-selling cakes like automobiles – SUV – ‘the facelift’ that international market got this year will be brought to India by next year, and a diesel engine is expected strongly to cover up the grey area left even after doing the right engineering with petrol engine, that actually lacked in raising the fuel-economy which only diesel suits best for the country. A 1.6-litre i-DTEC (diesel) of 118bhp would do the task. And on the aesthetic note, headlamps, bumpers and grille will be changed for the refreshment.
Expected Price: Rs 24-27 lakh
Maruti S-Cross
Though we shouldn’t be mentioning this model here, as most its structure resembled the crossover, but everyone in India loves Maruti and whatever it gives is received blindly just for the sake of an old school image that this carmaker is a better option of fuel-economy and maintenance cost, which in real world the international automaker has beaten it to dusk. Based on the hatchback that is raised high to give it a SUV touch, S-Cross is speculated to arrive in India with 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines mated to manual gearbox. The ace for S-it would be the all-wheel drive system which will give the vehicle a proper drivability in the rough terrain. Nissan Terrano and Renault Duster to become its major rivals.
Expected Price: Rs 13-14 lakh
Renault Lodgy
Don’t speculate the success rate of Lodgy in India as there are only cost-effective MPVs like Maruti Ertiga and Honda Mobilio doing their best here. The ones like Chevrolet Enjoy, Nissan Evalia, Ashok Leyland Stile and many others couldn’t made up even to the mid of the pace. But the success ratio of Duster that have spruced this French carmaker to roll out its new product line in the fresh lease of segment, makes Lodgy sound to be a very effective example as on paper at least. The famous Renault K9k diesel engine from Duster in the tune of 84bhp for the start maybe provided in 109bhp at a later stage, will be in its engine bay and most of the components also being shared with Duster for the cost-cutting. Hence, with due to all such terminologies embedded here it can bring down the cost of Lodgy to a large extent and make it to stand at par than the rest.
Expected Price: Rs 8-11 lakh
Datsun Go+
Nissan’s long lost dream of entering the low-cost market without harnessing its current image got a big leap with Datsun. Not only in India, but in other international markets this sub-brand of Nissan is doing pretty well. Another product to the nation from the said is going to be very effective in nature, the GO+ MPV, bound to cater the mass of audience who are tempted to buy hatchback. Going to get a 1.2-litre petrol engine of 68bhp and 104Nm of peak torque – the same carried from GO hatchback and Nissan Micra – will be focused here. However, the example available outside India is cramped with shoulder and knee rooms for the third-row seat making it strictly usable for children. After all, the practicality is expected to be the core of ideology at Nissan for GO+. Honda Mobilio, Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy, Nissan Evalia and Ashok Leyland Stile would definitely make its way painful to go forth.
Expected Price: Rs 5.5 – 7.5 lakh
Maruti XA Alpha
Maruti’s last resort to hunt back those gone away market shares from the compact SUV segment is speculated to be gained back once when the Alpha may get launched in the market by next year. Though, there isn’t enough confirmation of it to be coming into existence this soon, as the company is not interested at all over the low-cost segment. Since after the launch of Ciaz – sedan marketed upward Rs 10 lakh – fetching better results have geared the automaker to plot a one more product in the lifestyle category where the history hadn’t witness the success of this automaker in the segment of above Rs. 1 million (INR 10 lakh). The Swift’s 1.2l-litre K series petrol engine shall make the way here. But for the diesel picture is expected to be a slot bigger with the 1.5-litre diesel of Fiat.
Expected Price: Rs 7.5-10 lakh
