The Heritage Vehicle Owner’s Club of Thane held their annual vintage car show at Ghodbunder Road, Thane, on Sunday. Our team at Indiandrives went to check out the smorgasbord of cars and bikes that were on display at this year’s event, and were delighted to come across many rare beauties.
There were a total of 10 cars and 18 bikes on display at the Big Mall grounds. While the event began from 9.30 in the morning, we chose to reach there by afternoon, so that we could view the varied collection at our own pace, away from the hustle and bustle of the crowd. The annual vintage car show has been going on some years now, and this year, saw a large crowd turn up for the event.
All the cars and bikes on display were from the 1923 to 1980 model years. Most of the cars on display were from foreign manufacturers ranging from the American, Dodge Custom Royal sedan to the pristine Morris saloon car standing right beside it. Other cars included a Studebaker, a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle, and a Standard Herald Mark III, the ubiquitous Mercedes Benz, a Ford Prefect saloon and lastly the humble Fiat Padmini.
The event was a one day event organized by the Heritage Vehicle Owner’s Club of Thane for car and bike enthusiasts alike. The event was a delight for car lovers across all ages who converged at Ghodbunder Road, to know more about the heritage of cars.
