As we had kept on saying that VW is on the spree to extract maximum out of the Polo, hence, we found a piece of news which is also repelling the same. Just some days back we were informed about the CrossPolo doing test rounds in Pune, but disappointingly the emerged spy shots weren’t so clear to clock the perfect plethora on a drawing board. Just now we got the hands on a new set of spy images that clearly depicts all the curves and oomph of same without any camouflage. Looking at the images we can say that a lot of cues will be embellished to pull down the hatchback as well as compact SUV segment.
As learnt, CrossPolo will sit in the higher slotted segment of conventional Polo, and India spec may not find the spare wheel on tail gate. Silver colored garnishing to be seen on ORVMs and roof rails, whilst of a new set of front and rear bumper to become a part of production spec soon. All new alloys and CrossPolo badgings meant to be an inseparable induction on this upcoming bug. However we don’t know why, but the black colored body cladding on sides is crippling us a lot. We hope, Volkswagen should change it with something else otherwise it looks like the quality not driven to the ratio for what price is asked. To an extent, if the Germans may place a spare wheel at rear, even making it as an additional fitment, it will draw a large chunk of customers towards itself instead of nagging them away to the Ford EcoSport.
At last, the thing that most of us sneak into a spy shot is engine specification. The 1.6L diesel jag of Vento is said to be embellished in its bay, which will be capable of doing 105 bhp and 250Nm of torque to suit the image of soft yet cute off-roader that is emerged due to the higher ground clearance and a rousting shot of power in aerodynamics. Pricing said to be Rs. 1.5 lakh costlier than the outgoing Polo models and the launch that we (IndianDrives) only say will happen in “November or December 2013”.
