Volkswagen GT TSI had just seen the launch and now as we had said, without diesel any segment of the carmaker is uncompetitive, which seems the VW is now eyeing towards launch of GT badge in the diesel form. VW GT TDI test mules too were seen some days before, but here in these images their whole fleet is captured.
In the previous shots, we were given clarifications of ‘diesel GT’ with the exclusive badgings on rear of car but this time the carmaker have got conscious due to the previous sneak peak and now they had removed those chrome trimmed initials from the boot lid. Meanwhile, the front GT moniker is still kept intact. One may say here, how then it is recognized that this spied material is engulfed by an oil burner in the bay. In an answer to same, CarDekho had said, the noise from exhaust note and that diesel type of clatter feeling on the start gave in the cues of being done with the oil burner. We too found the reason genuine, because the automaker will not remove the external identifications of TSI badges, which we are presently feasting upon it after the launch.
As VW did not have something fresh in the pipeline till 2016, so they are making Polo as the new punching bag, to extract as much as possible before it bites the dusk. We think these are not the strategies carried from the plight of German boffins straight to India, but the newly hired MD of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Mr. Arvind Saxena who looks into the Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. must be chalking out such new assortments, as he was previously seen serving Maruti with this similar type of mentality. Over here we comment, if the Germans really want to make procurement of great sales numbers on our local shores then they must dig deep into the costing of spares and maintenance, which are a quite higher than the other brands.
