Germans very sceptical for their approach of venturing into a new arena, VW too as a German in nature had finally zeroed on opening a new showroom in Mumbai. Thankfully, the maker didn’t take too long to do that, and finally inaugurated a one at the New Link Road, Andheri, during last week. It marked the 118th showroom across 100 cites of India. But it is noteworthy VW pays preference to the residents of this city, as it had got 6 showrooms in the Greater Mumbai itself.
Tagged as Mumbai West, this new outlet of VW belongs to the Landmark Group, a one of the nation’s largest automotive dealership chain which also looks after the sales-service across Mumbai, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Gujarat.
The sales floor at Andheri holds large display area of cars, and is boasted with dedicated as well as highly trained sales staff to meet the international standards of VW. It has also setup a 24-bay workshop at Parsi Panchayat Road, Andheri (East), which is fully functional with its 24 servicing bays. Full of spare and well-trained technicians, it undertakes the jobs like regular and general maintenance, body paint and other repair work.
Speaking at the inauguration of new showroom, Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, commented that the India’s financial capital – Mumbai – is one of the fastest 4 four growing markets which truly aspires more VW cars. Volkswagen Mumbai West as the 6th dealership in the city is another stepping stone to reach a wider audience. The reason, Volkswagen India has aimed to enhance its market presence in the coming months. And Mumbai will surely help a lot.
To keep the focus on track, the German carmaker had also lined up various fresh launches over the coming two years and beyond, but hadn’t revealed any of them yet.
