The Volkswagen Polo, though a good hatchback no doubt, has always had certain shortcomings compared to its rivals like the Honda Jazz, Maruti Swift and Hyundai Elite i20. But now it seems Volkswagen will address some of these shortcomings by launching an updated version of the Polo hatch.
Some of the features that were added to the recently launched Vento would now be added to the Polo. Features like cruise control, cooled glove box, electronically controlled mirrors would be added to the car. Most of the specifications will remain same. For instance, the new Polo will not see any change made to it design wise or regarding its power source. Currently it is powered by two petrol (1.2-liter naturally aspirated and 1.2-liter turbocharged) and one diesel (1.5-liter 89bhp) engine. These will remain.
As far as price of the updated Polo is concerned, we expect it to be Rs.10-15K higher than current Polo price.
