If the change is need of the hour, do it on time. That’s is better exemplified by the Volkswagen with its Vento. Since eight months it received the update, the maker now revealed a fresh facelift for that sedan in India.
Talking from the front, grille has grown like that of new Passat. The headlamps too get a revision. A new bumper with chrome inserts, fog lamps and cornering lights are also found. The rear isn’t left with some miniscule details thrown complimentary. Indeed, the revised bumper with chrome strip, chrome touches for exhaust, door handles and revised tail lamps are some of the tricks seen used here. And those 15-inch alloy wheels add more charm to the entire deigning.
Moving inside, the cabin was airy and easy on eyesight, unlike the dark and aggressive toned of those usual German cars. Lighter color scheme has made the presence more attractive to Indian tastes. The top-end variant of Vento facelift is reported to adopt a cruise control, auto-fold mirrors, dead pedal, cooled glove-box and external boot release.
However, the engine bay will fire the adrenaline from 1.2-litre turbocharged-petrol producing 103bhp, and a 1.6-litre petrol churning out 104bhp. The diesel side is fixed with the 1.5-litre motor to produce the max power of 103.2bhp. A five-speed manual transmission passes on the traction as standard, but some can also opt for the 7-sped DCT (dual clutch transmission) as optional given away with the previous 2014 update.
Hence, the competition in sedan segment has picked up a new aggression, with every of them shown a new face recently, for example Honda City, Hyundai Verna and more. Volkswagen launched the two facelift in a matter of less than one year has made everyone wonder about its keenness for this segment.
