Volvo S60 awarded ‘Full Size Sedan of the Year’ by NDTV

The undisputed fact that Volvo Cars enjoy huge popularity amongst its customers has received another stamp of approval. It has received a further endorsement from critics and journalists. Volvo Auto India has been awarded the prestigious “Full Size Sedan of the Year” for its distinct and sporty Volvo S60 by the NDTV Car and Bike Awards 2012. The car had also received a nomination for the ‘Car of the Year’. Volvo Auto India MD, Tomas Ernberg and its Marketing and PR Director, Sudeep Narayan received this award. The award ceremony was held at Greater Noida’s Buddh International Circuit. After receiving this prestigious award, Tomas Ernberg said that the Volvo S60 had redefined the choice of its customers in the segment with its head-turning design, fascinating range of high-end safety features and its envious technology.

The Volvo S60 has been a top-line competitive and compelling offering with its unique features. Its Pedestrian Detection feature having full automatic brakes is a first time offering by any manufacturer across the world. The other impressive features in the car includes is the Advanced Controls, having Torque Vectoring and Automatic Braking assisted by Laser for ensuring City Safety. The top of the line features also include turning using steering lights as well as Adaptable Cruise Control. The vehicle had been introduced in India in 2011 first quarter. The S60 has won huge degree of success across the world and has already won 34 prestigious awards for its superlative features. This includes the Golden Klaxon in Russia in the category of ‘Technological Breakthrough’ as well as the FuturAuto Award in Belgium in the category of Pedestrian Safety. It has also secured the “Car of the Year” award for 2011 in Norway and Greece among many others.
