Volvo will soon start assembling its Volvo XC60 SUV locally. According to Volvo, sales of XC60 have been really strong in India and it makes perfect sense for them to locally assemble the car here.
But then Volvo India MD, Charles Frump, also mentioned that price of the car will not drop after the commencement of local assembly. According to him, the car has been priced very aggressively from the start and any further reduction in price is not feasible.
