The waiting period for the Taigun has now increased by more than two months, depending upon the engine- transmission & variant booked. The Taigun, single handedly drove a fifty per-cent Year-Over-Year growth in October, for the brand in India, as the other Volkswagen cars were just not getting enough sales for the brand.
The VW Taigun was launched at a starting price of Rs. 10.49 Lakhs (ex-showroom) for the 1.0 L TSI , Dynamic Line Variant & Rs. 14.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom) for the 1.5 L TSI, Performance Line Variant. The Taigun is only offered with Petrol engine options and is identical in almost every aspect, to its brother from another mother- The Skoda Kushaq. Both, the Taigun & the Kushaq are architectured on Volkswagen’s Modular Chassis Platform-the MQB AO IN, specifically designed for India.
The Taigun is offered in both manual and automatic transmission, the 1.0 L TSi engine gets the Torque Converter Automatic gearbox, whereas the for the top-end, GT Plus variant with the 1.5L TSi engine, Volkswagen continues to offer the lineage of thrilling driving experience of their quick shifting, Dual Clutch – DSG gearbox.

However, Volkswagen says, they are working closely with the dealers for the allocation of delivery vehicles and the suppliers of the key components, to reduce the waiting period and deliver the SUV as soon as possible.
