Abarth, a brand of Fiat, is getting ready launch the Punto in the next month. The car was first seen at the Buddh International Circuit in August and is ready to be welcomed in the Indian market. Abarth looks at the manufacture of performance products that are installed in Fiat cars and has made sure that it carves out its own identity with this launch and that Fiat’s name is seen nowhere across the campaign. The #WhoAmI is an endeavor in this direction to make it clear that the Punto belongs to the Abarth brand and not to Fiat.
The car is all set to lead in the non premium segment and comes packed with features including a 1.4-litre turbojet engine that delivers 145bhp in terms of power as well as 200Nm of torque. Though globally the engine is rated to power 135PS and 200Nm, the company claims that they have fine tuned it to deliver more here in India. The suspension also sees an upgrade to keep with this.
The car looks stunning and has sporty decals, the Scorpion logo and the Abarth badge which set it apart from the rest.
The Abarth Punto is likely to be priced at lower than Rs.10 lakh and will target the performance hatchback segment. The car has almost a complete focus on power and this will be the USP of the car. Bookings have already begun at all Fiat India dealerships.
