2022 Yamaha MT 15 V2 Launched | Quick Review

The Yamaha MT 15 V2 is a naked street bike that is priced at Rs 1.60 Lakhs (ex-showroom), however, the top-end variants cost Rs 1.61 Lakhs.

The V2 gets a fair amount of visual and technological updates, but mechanically it uses the same engine as its predecessors.

Yamaha MT 15 V2 is powered by a 155 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which develops a power of 18 HP and a torque of 14.1 Nm. The engine comes paired with a 6-Speed gearbox with a slipper clutch for slick gear shifts. For the braking setup, the bike gets dual disc brakes and a front ABS unit. What’s disappointing is the absence of dual-channel ABS. Also, there is no traction control as an added safety feature. This Yamaha rides on 17’’ alloy wheels with a wide tread of 140 mm at the rear. The bike weighs 139 Kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 10 litres.

The new MT-15 gets 37mm upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable mono-shock suspension. Also what’s new in the MT-15 are new updates like a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity (Y-connect). It gives the rider access to phone calls, text messages, email alerts, phone battery status, malfunction notifications, and the last parked location of the bike.

These are pretty much all the new updates that the Yamaha MT-15 V2 carries. Visually it remains unchanged, it poses as a semi-naked architecture with new LED DRLs. it still follows the dual colour theme, with the alloy wheels and the shroud.

The new MT-15 V2 is offered in four colour options Ice Fluo-Vermillion, Cyan Storm, Raging Blue, and Metallic Black.

The Yamaha MT-V2 rivals the KTM Duke 125, which is priced Rs 10,000 lesser than the Yamaha.
